When the LENOVO 3000 C SERIES
launched last year, Lenovo took the budget laptop's design in the wrong direction. The C100
looked hideous compared with its siblings in the Lenovo 3000 V and N Series. But Lenovo notebook heeded the rants in time for round 2. Lenovo 3000 C200's silver cover curves toward the frout bezel, giving it sleek silhouette. more in line with the rest of the 500 Series, and it's one of the most affordable business laptops on the market. Lenovo notebook C200's l.6-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 CPU and 1GB of RAM match that of the Editors' Choice Dell 111505 (Core 2 Duo), though the 1-11505 has better graphics. The Dell outperformed the C200 on the sysmark 2004 SE benchmark test, but unless you do 3D-intensive work, Lenovo C200 notebook is a solid alternative. Its battery tested at 4 hours 16 minutes. At 6 pounds, Lenovo C200 notebook is no lightweight, partly be cause of its 15-inch screen. Its keyboard is one of the best on the market.Lenovo C200 notebook lacks the TrackPoint pointing stick, but its touchpad is very responsive. Lenovo has made good on its second chance by delivering a worthy budget business laptop.
