For a company famed for its super-stylish TVs and mobile phones, Samsung's digital cameras have always been a comparative disappointment. That all looks set to change with the launch of the new NV series; a trio of multi-functional digicams with slinky all-metal exteriors. As the entry-level model of the trio, Samsung NV3 digital camera offers a relatively healthy choice of functions. In addition to Automatic and Program operation, there are 11 scene presets, including Children,Sunset and Dawn. A further notch on the mode dial offers Advanced Shake Reductions software-based feature that aims to reduce blurring. Smouldering in black with blue detailing, Samsung NV3 digital camera offers style in a package slimline enough to slideinto a pocket. The lens, however, is positioned so far to one side that it's all too easy for fingers to stray in front, while the space where you'd expect to find the shutter release button is occupied by a speaker. Apart from these quirks, Samsung NV3 digital camera is basically well designed with nicely spaced hardy controls.
